Initial consultation

a vein scan will help determine the best site for your venous access device
Prior to your venous access device (CVAD) placement you will have a consultation with Dr Gupta and also a short vein scan to assess the most suitable site for your venous access device. During the consultation we will ascertain the most suitable CVAD, discuss the procedure in detail, outline any alternatives and any possible complications. This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have. A consent form will also be completed.

In order to facilitate timely commencement of your intravenous therapy, the initial consultation and the vein scan can normally take place on the same day, prior to the procedure. If you would prefer to have a consultation before the day of the procedure please inform us. This will not affect the cost of your treatment.
